If you’re stashing your bike for the winter because of slippery trails and road conditions, you need studs to give you the extra traction during the frozen months.  Don’t let a little ice get in the way of a good ride! Model 1000 Grip Studs can be added to knobby tires of practically any bicycle, whether you’re trail riding on your mountain bike or commuting the city streets, ride like a boss! Studs are removable and reusable depending on the  mileage and condition of your tires.

Our wide–auger traction studs have holding power like no other screw-in tire stud. Grip Studs® tungsten-carbide construction, brilliantly designed to install easily and stay put like no other stud. These versatile studs are in a class of their own with an aggressive protrusion that leaves the competition in the dust. Grip Studs® offer top-notch performance on ice, snow, mud, slimy rocks, slick tree roots or frozen surfaces and are unquestionably the best screw-in traction studs you can buy!

WARNING: Installing Grip Studs into high-speed electric bicycle tires will decrease the life expectancy of these studs. 

PRO TIP: Best tires to install Grip Studs are an off-road knobby style with a minimum lug height of 5mm or you risk air chamber penetration.

The number of studs per tire depends on tire size: 

Commuter E-Bikes with 20" Rims: approximately 100 studs per tire

Mountain Bikes with 29" Rims: approximately 150 studs per tire

A variable speed drill can be used to install studs into tires however we find installing by hand is advantageous in bicycle tires.
