Whether you are working on the job in an oil field, going for epic hikes or wading out to your secret fishing hole with felt-bottomed boots, you need traction you can depend on and sometimes that’s more than just the rubber sole of your boots.  Model 1100 studs are an easy way to increase the traction on your boots and are ideal for felt bottom boots or boots with non-aggressive rubber soles.

WARNING: If you spin the stud without pressure on it, the stud will potentially unravel your felt.  It’s best to keep strong, constant pressure as you twist each stud into felt wading boots. 

PRO TIP: Drilling a 1/8" pilot hole in the felt wading boots, into the plastic retention plate prior to installation will make it easier to drive the Model 1100 into the felt. Pressure washing used felt will help remove debris prior to installation, or simply add studs to new felt boots for best results. 

PRO TIP: If you want to reuse your rubber soled boots from last season that have previously used stud holes, you can add some Aquaseal to the receptacle before you auger the studs into place to improve retention.  Grip Studs give their best performance when installed into new soles.

We do not recommend using a power drill to install studs into footwear.
