What are Grip Studs® Model 3000B (Wading Boot Studs)?

Model 3000B is a screw-in traction stud built with a tungsten carbide core, designed for rubber lug-sole wading, hiking, and work boots that need reliable traction on icy job sites. It's a shorter-prominence alternative to Model 3000A, built for boots like the Orvis Clearwater or Simms Flyweight.

How do they stay secure in the boot?

The wide-auger thread bites into the rubber lug sole to increase surface contact and holding power, keeping the studs in place without glue or adhesives.

What types of boots can they be used on?

• Rubber lug-sole wading boots for river and surf fishing
• Hiking and work boots with medium-height lug soles
• Boots worn on icy job sites

How many studs should I install?

Per boot: 14 studs

With a 3.5 mm prominence and 7.9 mm penetration, Model 3000B is built for boots with shallower lug soles than Model 3000A calls for, giving secure footing on icy docks, slick riverbeds, and frozen job sites.

Installation notes

Easy installation by hand with the #3200 installation tool. Power tools such as twist drills can be used, but not recommended.
