What are Grip Studs® Model 1800 Rear Dirt Bike Tire Studs?

Model 1800 is a screw-in traction stud designed for aggressive rear dirt bike tires. Built with a tungsten carbide core and wide-auger threads, it provides reliable traction for trail riding in slick and unpredictable conditions.

How do they stay secure in the tire?

The wide-auger thread design bites deep into the rubber, increasing surface contact and holding power. This helps prevent loosening or tear-out compared to standard sheet metal screws, keeping studs in place through demanding rides.

What type of riding is it best for?

Model 1800 is ideal for:
• Trail and single track riding
• Steep inclines and technical terrain
• Mud, hard-packed snow, and icy sections
• Slick logs, roots, and uneven surfaces

It’s built for riders who need consistent traction through changing winter trail conditions.

How many studs should I install?

Rear tire: 100-150 studs
Front tire: 150-200 studs

This amount helps maintain balanced traction and control on aggressive rear tire setups.

Why choose the Model 1800?

Built with a longer, aggressive profile, Model 1800 improves rear tire traction where power transfer matters most. The carbide tip supports wear resistance, while wide-auger threads help keep studs secure through acceleration and braking, giving you steady drive across mud, snow, and slick trail features.

Installation notes

Installs using a variable-speed drill—no pre-drilling required.
• 100 and 150 packs include an installation tool
